After thinking about it more and reading a reaction to my post <g>, I believe I am on the right track. We have conquered our own concerns and have moved to the next level where concerns outside ourselves are paramount. I do believe there are many more "conservatives" throughout the world than progressives.. But that will always be the case, since it is a relative term.

The conservatives of today, would have been progressives in the dark ages, at least some. <g>. Edit. (I think, I hope)

The group once known as the Democrats are still in denial over their betrayal by the clintons. The party may never fully recover. I look for the Libertarian group to be the next contenders.
