Buddy: Calling the company will almost invariably result in a sugar coated version of the truth. Like, "yes, we rewrote the User Interface in response to suggestions from our users".

When, in reality, they rewrote the user interface because their Customer Support staff was inundated with complaints about navigation, data interpretation issues, etc.

That's life in the software biz.

The trick is to take the time up front to design it correctly in the first place, then tweak it in response to those user comments. Rewriting is a serious, and expensive, effort.
