It doesn't matter what I think, it's what are the facts. Those are being concealed, backpedaled, stonewalled, and shredded, with a rich array of techniques, distractions and excuses. "A natural development after 9/11", yes. That's the point. That makes it all the more important to independently investigate all facts of the matter. What makes it even more important are the criminally-incompetent claims of intel and administration leadership, who are still at their posts, investigating themselves, and absolving themselves of any serious blame. "Make Afgh and Saudi glow in the dark" Perfect solution for a glow-in-the-dark world, for the forseeable future, including the US and your backyard. The Islamists feed on destruction of their people and their neighbors -- that is what gains them recruits, and power. The stated purpose of OBL is to provoke US attack on Arab countries, thereby causing the kind of conflagration you espouse. Better slow down on that sort of idea and think for a minute before pulling the trigger. The life you save may be your own. There are a billion Muslims, and millions of extremists, making the most popular newbord name "Osama". Do you think killing millions will change that to "George"? Not too bloody likely. The thousand-year blood feud resulting from that suggestion would be squarely the responsibility of the adminstration that launched such a policy. As we say in venture-capital, the "exit strategy" would be either genocide or Israel/Palestine type chaos. A different result is, shall we say, preferable.
