Don't be in such a hurry to blame moderate Democrats.

Cost of living during the past three years shot up far more than 15% due to exploding energy costs. Many of my fellow citizens of this state lost their jobs and their businesses due to this "crisis." The value of my $200K house in 1997 (all 1,700 square feet of it, pathetically) shot up to $400,000 today.

Of course the state is going to give them a raise for the simple reason their energy bills exploded by 400-600% and I don't know jack schit about building a freeway.

Do you continue to not accept the macro-economic hazards of manipulating energy markets?

Now, what kind of credence am I supposed to give you after you quote the author using 15% and "big fat" in the same sentence?

>>"As a result, the state took a windfall from the stock market bubble and spent it about as fast as it came in.

Sorta like shrub's doing with the national budget. Hey, what happened to that multi-trillion dollar projected surplus anyway ? It's already a deficit ?!?!

'Cept the feds can run an annual deficit, Calif. can't. Just like Ronnie, shrub's welcoming the "cut tax and spend (on corporate welfare)" government back, and ready to start a new huge deficit for the kiddies to pay off. Time to line the big donors' pockets again.

Enjoy.
