Will the Reps be able to keep America in a state of fear for 2 more years? And if so, will Americans appreciate such or will it grow tired of perennially warring "wag the dog" fights around the globe. And will the world grow wiery of a quarrelsome America that walks away from treaties, declares unilateral "my way or the highway" policies, unilaterally propones to attack other nations on suspicion alone (and then proceeds to make concession upon concession at the very UN it works so hard to undermine and declares devoid of a backbone), and will America tolerate the death of environmental sensitivity, and will America lead a world that behaves similarly down a path of intolerance and conflict? And will America appreciate the consequence of such policies only when inevitably they lead to the recruitment of terror and additional terrorist acts perpetrated on American soil and people?

Al,

Let's call a spade a spade......just like market investors, Americans hedged their bets. They have listened for over a year now to rhetoric suggesting that terrorist threats are eminent and knew those threats could turn into the real thing, so they decided to cover as many bases as possible. That meant giving Bush the support he needs while making sure he understands that that does not give him license to conquer the world. I think they made a mistake. Just like with Chamberlain and Hitler, you don't give much more than an inch [if that] to someone with too much testosterone running through their veins.

It will take the dyed-in-the-wool Reps a while if ever to figure it out......after all, they think the Saudis requiring Saudi citizenship for certain jobs is racial profiling and that hiring an illegal as a maid is a terribly, terribly dishonest affair when most of their Rep. brethren in Orange County, CA couldn't live without illegals doing their menial work. However, I am counting on the non Reps. figuring it out by the next presidential election. That's all we need to win. Of course, its incumbent upon the Dems getting their act together and developing some strong leadership between now and then. And I hate to say this but they also need to get some candidates who are not as bright as the Clintons.

The Reps. have learned with Reagan and GW that dumbing down the president can be a good thing. <g>

Since you are on top of these things, and in your blame America first world, you can easily identify which policy of the US is to blame for which disaster, maybe you can help me with this: Which one of Clinton policies is to blame for 9/11.
