I don't get how the VIX was down substantially on a down day, yet P/C ratio was way high? YOu'd think there would have to be an inherent correlation there. (Although CBOE was showing an equity only of over one and Shack said his Q-charts that follow all options exchanges was showing .53).

Crazy stuff.

That's why it's also good to look at the VXN. The VXN is not as affected by the large caps, so it tends to ring more true at the tops, IMO. I've got massive buy signals (inverse to market) on the weekly VXN. That should result in a 40-48% dump off the high according to the previous patterns in this bear.
