"Nice guy Image"? I can be pretty nasty... GZ is alright. We just disagree on this issue. That's all. Chip posted somewhere that we never know everything - so it is difficult to make judgements. He is right. Sudanese have an agenda when they say that they gave Osama to Clinton Admin and the admin balked. We don't know the whole story. That was the point I was trying to make. I don't share your opinion that GZ explained his personal journey cogently or gently. He said that Clinton betrayed ALL of us. This is not gentle. Also, there is NO explanation as to how he betrayed us and how he could have done things differently which would have for sure worked. Also, it is totally ridiculous, almost idiotic, to believe that somehow everyone else who was in the know was complicit with Clinton - e.g. CIA director, the Army, Gore, Congressional leaders, Bob Dole, Bush etc. How come none of them said at the time that "Clinton is asleep at the wheel. He should solve the Osama problem. He is planning a huge assault on US and Clinton is not doing anything". If Clinton can be blamed for falling asleep at the wheel, so should all the people I mentioned, including Pres Bush. Do you think nobody told him for 9 months that Osama was a dangerous man and needed to be dealt with? Come on - this is partisan politics without a xxxxing logic. There is no reason to think that Clinton betrayed GZ or anybody else when it comes to Osama issue. What was everybody else doing? What did they know and when did they know and WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL US? The fact must be that nobody knew for sure and it was unactionable. We should just accept that. Now this is logic, imho.
