"Tom, does Ad-aware provide updates?"

You know, I don't think it does. I just poked around in it, and the only update feature it has is to buy Ad Aware Plus. I never really thought about it, but thanks for pointing that out (if that's what you were doing).

Now, do you know of a free program that works as well as ad-aware, and has free updates? I'm cheap, and really like free, but I may be asking too much.

Gottfried,

Yes, (I'm assuming your asking about definition files) but you have to go fetch them at the site. They also have a batch program that can be used to check and fetch.

Yes, the batch Eric mentions is called RefUpdate. Download and install it. I had to choose a server other than the lavasoft one from the dropdown menu and it will fetch the latest defs for you. Beats going to the website and manually doing it.

edit: I see you have it already
