The funny thing, is that in 1998, President Clinton said pretty much the same things as President George W. Bush. In fact the policy of "regime change" originated in the Clinton Administration. Did the author not believe the Clinton Administration?

Dear Jeb: I certainly dont disbelieve him, and frankly, listening to all the commentators, I am pretty much convinced there is ONLY ONE WAY to assure Saddam is disarmed, and that is to put OUR foot soldiers on the ground in IRAQ and ROOT THEM OUT. Not something I look forward to but I do believe the BENEFITS outweigh the potential RISKS. The World will holler like hell publicly but be very happy privately and in two weeks will have forgotten it all. JDN
