That sounds like a lot, and it is, but there is more to the story - the jobs are short duration always, whether repair or installation, with a good deal of organisation and transport time between .... modern systems get put together very quickly, and a plumber who can get them done even quicker will make more with surprisingly little resentment from the general contractor, who can then be assured that the electricians and drywallers can get into the building by tuesday noon, so he the g.c. can get the next draw on his contract, and be one step closer to substantial completion, which will hopefully occur before the bank repossesses his mistress ..... 'Plumbing is a complex trade to learn.' [from your article there] - not so, according to a young fellow who worked for me once, and went off to be a plumber, he was attracted to the trade by the clarity and simplicity of its three elemental rules, as he understood them -

1. water runs downhill
2. shit floats
3. payday is friday
