I would agree that neither the USA or Europe have the right answers yet.

In the USA I was often hired for companies with much good on site talent. They did not have an university degree though. If they were from the UK they would have university degrees for sure. Thus I was able to bid very high for wages.

When I told a friend at the 12 gauge shotgun range (ex Brit patriot) that I was moving back to Britain he lowered his gun and said.. "Are you completely MAD??... those people are poor, fly back there first, you will see they have no life in them just by looking into their eyes". He then lifted his gun and successfully shot a very difficult bird. He was right of course.

9/11 made things more complicated for me, as did this dumb stock market failure.

I'm a process engineer though. Nothing phases me. UK & USA trained winner -g-
