Here are some more Iraq scenarios in order of how likely I think they are to pan out:

1) Saddam manages to destroy/hide evidence of WMD from inspectors

2) US "inspectors" get caught spying again and discredit the whole UN inspection process

3) Some evidence of WMD is found but there is a debate about the seriousness and feasibility of the evidence

4) US has some more immediate crisis that necessitates concentrating on something more important than dealing with Saddam

GD, I believe the S&L crisis was much worse than what JPM possibly is looking at, and we survived that. I don't know what JPM is going to be out if this happens, but even if it is $70-billion, it can be managed if there is some government intervention, IMO.

A political analysis on possible Iraqi freedom

By Iqbal Latif

Saddam's Baghdad is finally ready to fall. The Kabul-like fall of Baghdad is expected in the not too distant future and the internal revolution by Kurdish & Shi'ite elements will drive the final nail in the coffin of Saddam Hussein.

This is Saddam's last sigh and I don't expect any major war to take him out but rather a coup d'etat will occur. He has lost trust of the praetorian guards who used to protect him!.............
