As I've stated before, when there has been heavy ground work on the road or building of casinos above there someone gets lucky. The city of Black Hawk is currently building a large sewer processing plant that is dislodging large amounts of earth & there is a rather large amount of road work also along Clear Creek. Our spotty but sudden precipitation this year helps wash large volumes of earth. Just as they still pull out the rare nugget in CA & MT & Wy & WA it still happens here, but it is these rare nuggets which greatly boost the average panning return. I agree this must be the exception not the rule, but the exceptions do happen.
