IMO, government in the 21st century Information Age should be a clearinghouse for social, business, financial, science and operational information. Some of that is done now, but relatively little. Political operatives prefer the 19th century tradition of wealth transfer from one pocket to the other, skimming a percentage.

All and I mean all other activities are either inefficient or counterproductive. Some are necessary(defense,courts,) but most others are useless or negative to the country

The greatest negative in government is the shadow spook government infecting most departments, which is totally unaccountable. With full disclosure of all public dollars and programs would help smoke out the real terrorists, which unfortunately include some who are paid by American taxpayers.
