Mattson Technology Promotes Robert MacKnight to Chief Operating Officer Monday December 9, 8:30 am ET FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 2002--Mattson Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:MTSN - News), a leading supplier of advanced process equipment used to manufacture semiconductors, today announced that it has promoted Robert MacKnight, 53, formerly the company's executive vice president and president of the Thermal, Films, Etch (TFE) product division, to the position of chief operating officer. In his new role, MacKnight, who will report directly to Mattson Technology CEO David L. Dutton, will oversee all of the company's internal operations, including the engineering, marketing, support and business development for the product areas, as well as manufacturing, quality and information technology. Prior to Microbar, MacKnight was vice president and general manager of After Market Operations for Cymer, Inc. He has also held senior management positions with Watkins-Johnson Semiconductor Equipment Group and Eaton Corporation and has founded two startup ventures.
