In the current issue of the "The New Yorker", November 11, 2002, the lead editorial by Joe Klein, discusses Paul Wellstone, his memorial, apathy and the lack of passion in politics..

As I believe, his memorial service truly reflected him, his passion for his causes.. Not a slap as the conservatives and the wrestler that landed on his head too many times portrayed. He truly believed.. Being the only senator in a close race to vote against Bush's Iraq war.

Klein goes on to say how BOTH parties WANT to manipulate the fewest voters possible so that they become predictable. Like when you see a president/politician giving a talk with MOST of the people BEHIND him.. Not in front of him.. So ORCHERASTED, Such a LACK of courage, Such a LACK of the SPIRIT of democracy..

I am so glad you liked it! I can't wait to see it again.

I finally found a video store that had Baran this weekend. Excellent Iranian movie. Very poignant movie. Suitable for children. Although it might be a little slow for kids under 12/13.

Rented Lucky Break too. Ok. I'm a little tired of prison movies. When I compare Baran to Lucky Break, I have to say to you "See Baran." :-)

There are some very exciting movies coming out in the next few weeks. I'll let you know what is worth watching (imo). I rented an old movie I had somehow missed, American Perfekt. Strange movie, serial killer genre, but it was like an early Cohen Brothers film, so i'm glad I rented it. I normally don't like the murder and mayhem flick genre, anymore than I like horror. But someone recommended it to me, and it was worth watching. The same person recommended the Minus Man, which I had also skipped. So I suppose I'll have to rent that too.
