Based upon historical price action in the dollar what we are going through now is more likely a hard(er) landing. A hard landing does not mean a crash -- a one or two day event. It is a sustained and relentless move down way above the historical norm on a consistent basis. I have posted how this has been the case this year.

I guess you are dismissing the possibility of a monster surge in the DOW---something like 1000 points, in the event of a hard landing.
A market rally (even if temporary) have been known occur due to serious currency risks.

I am not saying Dow will rally on a dollar crash but the possibility has to exist. Bonds/money markets/cash at greater risk than stocks under that scenario. Therefore a rush out of cash/bonds and into foreign currencies, US stocks, and gold.

I had read about this scenario a few months ago on a gold news website.

just a thought.
