I can assure you that being able make an accurate earnings projection is quite useful. It would have gotten you off the long side in 2000. As I said I don't cover EXPE nor do I own it, but there are certainly other stocks I do. I've been having this "fundamentals don't matter" argument with any number of shorts in the stocks I do hold. Slowly but surely they are covering their losses. Some have been lucky and the market action bailed them out. I would never make an investment based on guessing how stupid people will get. In the long run the stock price always approaches the fundamental value of the underlying enterprise. You don't even know what the fundamental value of EXPE is, if you did you'd at least be able to make a decent earnings projection for 2003, or at least the next quarter. You are flying blind.
