Mark,

<< "I've been using the Norton Utilities and Anti-Virus (now rolled into SystemWorks) since PC Tools rolled into Norton" ... wow, there's some longevity for ya. >>

I'll tell you a funny story. I upgraded to WIN95 at 10 AM on the day it was released and upgraded from WFWG 3.11 using 32-bit file access and 32-bit disk access. That's when I migrated from PC Tools to the Norton Utilities. Everthing worked fine except that I spent one bloody week without 32-bit disk access. The culprit turned out to be one line in an .ini file that had been added by PC tools under WFWG 3.11 in the PC Tools section of that file. The line read:

32 bit disk access = 0n

Reming the line or changing the option to Off allowed 32 bit disk access.

That drove me nuts for one solid week. I had run every utility Norton offered. I had talked to Microsoft tech support and Norton's. I had scoured the message boards. I had looked at that offending line 99 times.

I changed the option as a result of a post on the PC Tools message board.

As a result I'll never forget when I made the swap over. Certainly not the worst problem I've ever had, but one of the most perplexing.

Best,

- Eric -
