Look at the assets minus liabilities at WCOM.

=> Does anyone have a link to an accurate balance sheet for WCOM? I am curious if they have much tangable book value...if any.

I believe their book value is still a fairly large number that should have a stock price above a dime, now eleven cents. They are still finding a billion here and there that is not accurate, but my guess is the book value of what is left is pretty good. The price is low because nobody trusts the numbers. IF they give him a small salary but tons of options priced at a dime... and he can get the stock back to a dollar or two... do the math but it has to be tons better than HPQ is going to do in the next year or two.

of course, I own both so I hope he went to WCOM for reasons that are positive for the stock.

K

I'm saying that no matter how much HPQ pays, he probably recognizes this as an opportunity to differentiate himself, and show his skills as a manager who can complete mergers successfully....always a skill that is in demand.
I'm sure he knows he can make much more money that way than by staying at HPQ.
