Al, <There is not a single positive subject I can point to.>

Which is exactly why the Democrats lost in 2002. Think about it.

A tax break for those who don't need it

You believe that? Every taxpayer in the nation gets a rebate of $300/600 and you say they don't "NEED" it!!! WHO IN HELL ARE YOU TO DECIDE WHO DOES AND WHO DOESN'T NEED A TAX BREAK?

war

Well, at least with this president "war" is a response to a national security threat. I shudder to think what the true underlying reasons for Clinton's war were.

no peace in Israel

What's THAT got to do with US? Clinton tried to play peacemaker over there, HOPING to get some kind of legacy, only to make matters worse than they already were.

The truth of the matter is that Bush had accomplished more BEFORE 9/11 than the previous president did in eight long years. Why aren't you criticizing Clinton?

Al,

Just pointing out that if you remove 9/11, this adminstration has NOTHING to its credit...NADA.

There were less than 9 months between January 20 and 9/11. The tax cut was IMO a major achievement is such a short time.

Without 9/11, there would have been a lot more progress on the domestic front. Things that come to mind is reform of Social Security, tort reform.

Imagine, the sleazeball lawyers and their Democrat sponsors may at some point lose the stranglehold on the American economy one day. IMO, that's worth double the trillion tax cut for the economy. The sleazeball laywer/Democrat extortion is costing billions of dollars, jobs and is reducing the economic growth.

I think these sleazeballs (the team of elected Democrats / lawyers) are still too strong to attack head on, but look further. In 2004, there will be more Democrats up for re-election than Republicans, some Dem Senators may retire because of old age, or because of lost hope of ever regaining majority, and it may present Republicans an opportunity to increase their majority to lets say 55 or 56.

This may provide sufficient base from which to launch assault on the most disgusting part of America - the trial lawyers (and their Democrat sponsors / beneficiaries).

Joe

Al,

A tax break for those who don't need it

Is this the Das Kapital of tax cut? To each according to need, from each according to ability?

How about income tax cut to those who pay income taxes? Sounds much more straight forward to me, and apparently to majority of Congressmen and Americans.

Joe

A tax break is a big thing to Bush's credit. Of course it is too small and phases in to slowly but I never said he was perfect.

The stock market drop was mainly a deflation of the bubble that occured under Clinton and the economic slowdown also started under Clinton.
