EMC's fastest-growing product line, meanwhile, was the Centera "content-addressed storage" archiving system. Tucci says the company sold "well over 1 petabyte" -- up 258 percent quarter over quarter -- with solid customer growth in areas that included email archiving, content management, and healthcare. Centera has a starting price of $204,700 for a 5-terabyte system, which means EMC apparently booked at least $40 million in sales of the system in the quarter.
