Let’s not behave as if our very existence is threatened. It isn’t, and the illusion that it is can produce the kind of hysterical thoughts and actions that create more problems than they solve.


You raise a good point. The way people understand the current level of risk determines the actions they deem neccesary to eleminate that risk. I think there is a very real risk of a sustained terrorism campaign on American soil. I think there is a very real risk of a fundamentalist state becoming armed enough to attack or provoke Isreal.

Although I don't see the US being 'taken over' by any stretch, I do see that the stability of the world being at risk.


This is hyperbole.


I really don't think so and I think that the can get the job done without causing a large scale conflict. If he does the world will look very different.

Of course, I could be wrong.
