Qualcomm takes on TI in 3G multi-mode chip set market

Some on the thread may remember that I recently said I would email TI IR about their progress with a wCDMA chip. Well I did and got the response posted below:

"TI has a strong position in GSM and GPRS. TI expects that most of the wireless service providers currently using GSM or GPRS will move to W-CDMA for 3G at some point in the future. Although we have not announced any specific products, W-CDMA is a priority for the company and we expect to maintain our strong market position as our GSM/GPRS customers move into W-CDMA."

The response speaks for itself and no further comment is needed.
