Nah, Cornell, for the most part, though I think he did teach a bit at Radcliffe while working as a lepidopterist at Harvard.

"Laughter in the Dark" is great. The first page is tremendous. I can almost quote it--the tale is already told, this middle class protagonist is going to have his life ruined by a young strumpet, but there's pleasure in telling the tale anyway.

Nabokov is great. Layers upon layers upon layers of meaning, literary tricks, puzzles, etc., that you can spend a lifetime deciphering and not even scratch the surface. A world class lepidopterist, to boot.

Don't get me started, I won't stop.
