This was foreseen long ago, and is why other more "targeted" measures have been made available.

Why isn't anyone asking if the coalition forces are actually going to be used as an invasion force, or a force for stability after Saddam and his the top layer supporters are removed?

It appears that everyone just assumes that these soldiers will invade, rather than secure the safety of the Iraqi people from the secret police after Saddam is gone.
