Fault Line. Did they ever lose an engine during your flights in C47 ?

A passenger (doctor) told me he was on the Mediterranean once, outbound for the war in Algeria, and they couldn't top the waves by more than flight level 3 (100 meters), even once they threw overboard all personal luggage and medical gear.
