Sometimes the radio ads are even worse than TV. There are all sorts of sound effects, baby cries, sirens, halloween sounds and the like as they mention the other candidates name. In general the attack ads are so bad that the candidate that is paying for them never mentions his own campaign at all rather than risk being associated.

The governor's race was indeed nasty - wall to wall commercials with two huge budgets and nary an issue discussed. Not that there was a whole lot of difference between Shrub's biggest contributor and the republican incumbent.
