Hi Clappy! Been gone all day. Just in. To answer your question, yes, ole Buffett has been looking at energy and telecommunication companies.

I've read several things in recent weeks about his actions in this regard. Seems like one of the most recent was off Bloomberg a few days ago.

On the telecommunications companies, I think the focus was on the old and true telephone companies, those in actual delivery and distribution to homes.

Which of the utilities and telecoms do you like or have been following?

Answer: VZ, CNP, AEP, ALE and EP (nice move on it today).

I've been thinking that stocks that pay dividends may be the first to look attractive to those who were burnt during this bear market.

VZ div yield 4.1%
CNP 9.8%
ALE 5.1%
AEP 9.2%
EP 11.6%

Plus or minus a bit of course. Not bad.

I really like VZ. Check out:

BTW, I've had super results writing cc's on VZ.

Hope all is OK with you.
