I get high on life, my friend <vbg>

As far as nutcases behind the Beltway, they tend to be hermetically-sealed, so inhale whatever fumes eminates from the White House.

I spent some time there unavoidably meeting variety of politicos one year and it was amazing. If NY is the "ways and means", DC is the "means to an end". Lots of very smart people, a lot of fun going to continuous dinner parties, presentations and meetings. The end result is now all very insider/Machiavelli, rather than Mr. Smith goes to Washington, like Paul Wellstone types. Bottom line, they are obsessed with managing $2 trillion in the country's wealth taxed from the citizenry, who they couldn't care less about, and it's basically a small foreign country with little to do with real American, except parasitically.

Is that "leftist"?
I associate "left" with taxes and out-of-control disorganized social programs, and "right" with tax revolts and out-of-control lethal force, covert ops, and creation of highly organized all-powerful government agencies.

I'd say I'm more in the libertarian area, more concerned with personal privacy and public information on publicly-paid-for issues, full disclosure, reduction in taxes and government, and firing most politicians, making all government officials accountable and criminally liable for publicly lying on important issues, obstructing disclosure or destroying documents.
