Usual suspects are in top 25, along with 3 copper companies (Rio Tinto, Freeport, and Buenaventura), 2 base metal (MIM, Noranda), a steel company (CVRD), and a silver miner (Penoles)

CVRD (Brazil) is really going to make an effort in gold in the next few years and might well get close to 1moz.

The Kinross/Echo Bay/TVX merger will put them into #10, just below Ashanti.

Keep your eye on African Rainbow, who continues to move up, along with Rangold (doing great with Morila mine)

Up and comers to watch:

#26 IAMGOLD, great production increase, merged with Repadre, it will be #24

#30 Croesus NL, built themselves up nicely, getting visibility as one of Australia's biggest

#38 AVGOLD, watch the new Target Mine push them way up on the list in the next 6-9 months. (up to 100,000 ounces per quarter production rate)
