Ted, <And they will point on the wrongness in the Bush agenda......with conviction.....and people will get it.>
Actually, this is exactly what they tried in 2002 without success. The Dems had no alternatives to Bush's agenda. All they did was run themselves as the "anti-Bush," and the net effect was a weak message. The more they try this, the more people will get turned off.

Ten, its not what they tried in 2002. They went along with the war because that's what they perceived the people wanted and not what they believed. They were afraid to stand by their conviction. It was stupid. There's a lot wrong with Bush's strategy but he came off looking stronger.

Dems need to start defining themselves a lot more. "Vote for us! We're not Republican" is a very ineffective message. Hence, my musings over whether the Dems will try and become more liberal, like the late Paul Wellstone.

They need not be afraid to be who they are.

Tenchusatsu,

Hence, my musings over whether the Dems will try and become more liberal, like the late Paul Wellstone.

Paul Wellstone, before he died in the plane crush was one of the most vulnerable incumbents. And he was a Democrat in a state that normally leans Democrat. Which can tell you about the chances of Paul Wellstone - like ideology. It has hard time surviving in a Democrat leaning state.
