politician hater... I may sound harsh, but don't hate them, certainly not on a personal level, and I've met hundreds, and even considered running for office, and may someday. They are Americans after all, most of whom must commit enormous effort to get into office and do their jobs. It's complete immersion lifestyle. It is a noble calling, if done truly for public service, and not for personal gain. The problems that have screwed up credibility are the money required for television, and consequent vulnerability to lobbying/bribery and mean-spirited fight-to-the-death gamesmanship. Few have the intelligence or character to resist that. Some do, but not enough see it that way. It's always, "well, that's just the way it is". McCain is one of the few confronting it, and is upfront on the attempts, such as the S&L scandal.
