Are you saying that this year it will be more convenient to use Amazon than in years past?

While China Telecom Corp. (CHA: news, chart, profile) managed to attract enough interest to float its IPO into the public market, the deal is sinking in its opening day in New York.

The stock first changed hands at $18.75, below its $18.98 price, then fell lower. Shares dropped to $17.76 on volume of 9.3 million.

Signs of investor reluctance came as the IPO priced just a penny above the low end of its $18.97 to $21.92 range.

Originally planned for nearly $4 billion, the initial public offering for the state-owned telecom giant was scaled down to $1.4 billion by cutting the number of shares.
