Marcos how do you propose we defend our g.w.n. when we incarcerate farmers who try to sell grain on the open market. When a rancher who owns a 22 rifle for shooting coyotes is branded a criminal.

If you're really worried about your rights hide out on the rez.

Do you really think Lewis MacKenzie will save us from the big bad Americans? Geez Louise wake up and smell the coffee beans.

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against.... We're after power and we mean it.... There's no way to rule innocent men.

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted-
and you create a nation of law-breakers- and then you cash in on guilt.

Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

When Jalbert, 32, stopped for gas, a hunting rifle in his vehicle attracted the attention
of a U.S. policeman. A check of his record found a 13-year-old criminal conviction for
vandalism and possessing stolen property, making him inadmissible for entry to the
United States.

Jalbert faces felony charges of illegally entering the country and illegal possession
of a firearm, which carry a maximum 10-year prison sentence. Locals call the case
unnecessary U.S. harassment, while U.S. officials respond that border security
changed after the September 11 attacks.

Who do you think you are? Cuba?

The International Court
or
The UN

In order to achieve peaceful resolution to conflict, there has to be a final authority. As long as the United States continues to act impartially this will never happen. Canada has developed foreign policies which do not align with the United States in many critical areas. I see little risk of Canadians becoming Americanized, after 130 years in same duplex the differences are more pronounced, not less pronounced.

I think the people along the border are going to be a lot more conscious. The US was severe but I think most people will hear the message very clearly. At least the poor bastard wasn't selling wheat, then we would have asked that he be extradited and he would be facing hard time.
