So did El Paso Gas. So did about 5 other companies which are being investigated (Dynergy, Williams, AES, ?Southern, and...). There are lots of reports about the various schemes which these guys used. The crisis that occurred was artificially created by the providers, at great cost to the ratepayers, the state government, the state utilities, and to the 5th largest economy in the entire world (yeah, they can say whatever they want about us, but our economy is larger than theirs, unless "they" is the US.Twtttttttttt.) Oh, and Ross Perot developed the software for the ISS or PUC or whomever, and then told these companies how to game the system. That is not to say that we were blameless, nor is it a defense of Davis. Davis was only vice gov (makes him sound more corrupt, huh), so didn't get involved, but I believe he supported deregulation, which was passed with bipartisan support and approved by the voters, one of whom,I am proud to say, was not Da Kid. Dereg, as set up, was flawed. However, these companies gamed the system to cause all the problems. We had enuf power then. We have more than enuf now. We use less per capita than any other state, and, yet, WE ARE THE 5TH LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE WIRLD. (I'll bet you didn't believe all those left wing pinko commie fruits and nuts could do that, did you?) And, when they gamed the system and Cheney said too bad, but conserving is only a lifestyle choice, we said fuck you, dick and all your friends, and conserved the hell out of the electricity and didn't have any problems, despite their best efforts. How big is your state's economy, lad? Rat PS... and in the meantime, while Rome is burning, and Shrub is playing the fiddle, half the countries in the world are passing us in alternative energy R&D. Well, maybe not half, but you get the point.
