Did it ever work? If it worked once upon a time, something has gone bad or has been changed.
Whatever that is, is anyone's guess and is out of my area of expertise.

If it is a new drive and has never worked, check to be sure it has been installed properly.
ie: cables plugged-in correctly (orientation), etc. especially a power pigtail plugged into it.

If the A drive worked fine but now doesn't, I'd try several new floppies- if you get the same result with all of them, then your A drive is dead. new ones are cheap and easy to install. good luck. larry
