True that if they were traded, someone had to sell and someone had to buy and if someone just wrote them (naked) and not traded they would have just shown up as open interest. Is this right?

In any case, maybe I'm just looking for a conspiracy, but when I notice a big spike in a particular strike that has been rather benign it just gets my attention. I'm I just striking out at windmills?
