Such an opportunity the US missed there, twenty to twenty-five years ago, they could have made up for past black marks on their record in the area, instead they added another ..... the name Rick Chidester from your link, there was another name with a similar story, that hit the back pages briefly around the same time ... yeah Negroponte ... also Poindexter, who now has a spy agency set up to monitor me and thee, poof there goes the right to privacy ... guess who voted for the goons of Reagan - well you likely know this - Algore ... there were people who were aware of this in the fall of 2000, and looked at that, heard Dubya with the juntos podemos line, and - voted for the party of the goonmaster .... what a world eh ... you really don't have an effective opposition down there .... we don't here either, so it's not just your system of two near-identical parties ... the press is supposed to act to blunt or at least expose the worst of abuses, but mostly they're as subject to herd instinct as the mass of citizens ... hard to say what the answer is ... well the answer is education, but until people want it, it's not relevant ... and may never be
