Washington's tirade, though, managed to accomplish a miracle: to unite Iran and Iraq - and not in an axis of evil mode. Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi not only rebuffed Rumsfeld, but also voiced strong support for an Iraqi proposal for Muslim nations to restrict oil supplies to pressure the United States and Israel.

It is only reasonable that the muslims would be thinking in this way. These folks are sadly digging the graves for vast numbers of their own people. The civilized world is already working hard to move away from its overdependence upon fossil fuels. I predict within two decades most newly built autos will not run on fossil fuels at all. Within fifty years most new buildings will not depend in any way on fossil fuels. If Islamic nations refuse to join civilization, they will suffer beyond anything they can now imagine. It is tragic because it doesn't have to be that way.
