You are right. Jock was diagnosed with Crohn's and told that the ascending colon was cancerous. Then he went to Northwestern, and he was told that nothing was wrong, and that it was just a bacterial infection. Unfortunately, the doc made a terrible mistake, the reasons for which my attorneys are attemting to discover.

Jock really enjoyed posting on this site. He first started to do it when he was studying to go to osteopathic school, and he wanted to take the admission tests. He would take a break and write a message to break the boredom. This was the only site where he participated on the Internet. Then these messages became part of our dinner conversation.

The reason he did not post under Jock Hutchinson on Yahoo was that the name was already taken. He never did hide the fact that he was who he was. In fact he even posted my picture, which really made me mad, so your memory is correct. And if you remember Jock's time on the Yahoo thread, you will recall that Jock lost a lot of money on Xerox and BRNC. I still have the BRNC. It is less than a dollar a share. If the company would cloase its doors, I would make more money than I would make selling my stock. Shane did not post under his name either. He posted under Raincomeagainanotherday. Nor was there a ruse. Shane attacked Jock when Jock posted, and Shane wrote that Jock was not trusted on this thread. (By the way, Jock did like Shane, when he first posted on this thread. He thought Shane really understood LSI. However, he eventually felt that Shane had far too high an opinion of himself, and that he really did not know what he was talking about. He thought that Shane's calculations on the percentage of market share that LSI would get on items like DVD and digital cameras were silly. He also thought that Shane didn't really understand Fiber Channel and its role in storage. For Jock, it was fun to prick the balloon of someone he regarded as far too self absorbed and sensitive for his own good. Of course, Jock was wrong on his opinion of the potential for CDMA to work for LSI.

The reason I brought up Dipy's old posts is because he has NEVER been positive on LSI even though he claimed to own a lot of it. The reason I brought up your old posts was to verify what you wrote.

As I have begun to trade during the past year, I have found that I have never had a good day. On days when I make money, I feel that I could have made more. On days when I loose money, I am unhappy that I have lost money. So my message on the stock I trade, whihc is TXN is that I never make a wise investment decision.

Good luck to you

LJH

believe it was in an effort to lure Shane into a false dialogue on yahoo. It was a while ago, but I believe you may have taken part in that ruse as well. Two, Jock often dug deeply into people's past messages and threw them up in the face of the present, as if nothing is allowed to change in this market, including a person's opinion. A good trader/investor has to be flexible and needs to be able to change with the market somewhat without being intimidated by somebody keeping a scorecard on their every move

You are right again. My assistant and I just finsished going through thousands of posts to read some of Jock's messages. What an A**H****!!!!

However he did not lure Shane Forbes into claiming that he averaged a 1400% return on his microcap stocks during the three year period from 1997 to 2000, despite the fact that Shane primarily posted on the BORL, WDC, and LSI threads during this time period, and these stocks were terrible performers until 1999.

Nor did Jock lure Shane into claiming that he knew management at 75 companies.

Jock posted his primary trades on this thread, and when he went to Yahoo, he changed his tone to push pull at exactly the time he should have, which was when the tech market hit its peak.

Jock;s criticism of Shane was very right. Shane would publish every obscure article about LSI, and then disappear when the market went against the stock. And Shane attacked Jock with obscenities. Jock did not respond in kind.

But the most significant difference between Jock and Shane is surely the reason why Jock made a lot of money, and got out at the high of the market, and Shane either lost a lot of money or is STILL holding the bag.

Jock knew how to make fun of himself, and Jock knew how to admit he made mistakes. Jock also posted some very nice things about Shane even after their fight started, but Shane never responded in kind. Jock's great strength was that he had had a difficult life, and that he knew how to bounce back. Shane was a very bright person, but he was too much in love with his intelligence to be of any consequence.

Also, when I reviewed Jock's post, I did not realize that he had indicated to this thread that he was investing in real estate in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, which is what he did with about half of his profits. Uptown was slum like neighborhood in early 2000. Guess what? In the past two years, land values have DOUBLED in Uptown. Investors have made a five hundred percent profit on their investment. He was brilliant, and I hope that I can pass on some of his character strength to our children.
