And btw, it is my guess that all Vietnamese are probably better off under their capitalist/communist system in place today than they were under the separate world's of the 60s and 70s.

Tell that to the thousands who perished and their families fleeing communist oppression follwing the war....

This is the reputation. There is some basis for it, but I don't know what the whole truth was about their motivation and how it was maintained.
