Dell has been the best horse for me in this 2 year storm, maybe not the fastest, but has a smoother stride, able to forge rivers, carry heavy loads.
The analysts thinking a year ago, was that a company a big as Dell could no longer grow at 30% a year, maybe <20%.
Would they care to think again after this earnings report?
I am not greatly concerned over the high P/E -if the market does not go down the P/E could remain the same
5 years from now as long as Dell continues to grow the business which is certainly their intent. In which case one can have a return greater than 20% /yr
Merrill was forced to buy $1bil of a Chinese company that loses as much money as it sells in product.
MER made their money on fees and on the IPO processing so if it turns out bad, who cares, it will be investors money thats lost, not theirs.

The day is drawing nearer when analysts will have to stop trashing the chip and P/C makers or lose what little is left of their tattered reputations> But Dell has not been downgraded for 14 months - can expect a downgrade anytime just about noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
Damn, they just dropped a downgrade on Intel
