You must have a guess? You did say, after all, "We would have to kill a very great many Iraqis just to match Saddam's normal killing rate now." as justification that you "don't have qualms about this war"


Oh, I would have to work up the number from the estimates of death rates in Saddam's major internal campaigns, plus guesses as to the numbers of dead in the prison system. Would you include the Iraqi dead from the Iran-Iraq war, or only the death rate of those he is killing right this minute? The latter seems to low, as the no-fly zones are preventing him from doing what he likes to the Shia and the Kurds. As Ken Pollack says, whenever Saddam feels his rule is internally threatened, he attacks somebody. That's his MO.
