I agree to an extent, but I've seen this statement repeated ad nauseum by political pundits and the press. Had the Dems won it instead of the GOP, they'd be claiming that the public is now 100% liberal. Instead, the GOP won and won big (because the odds were against the GOP in the first place), and the only thing these "experts" can say is that America is a 50-50 nation.

Excuse me? America is probably right-of-center at the moment. "50-50" is a cop-out, yet the Dems tried too hard to cater to that crowd. Guess that's what happens when you base your politics on polls instead of ideals and character. (Can you guess who the architect of "poll-based politics" is?)
