I wonder if Jeff Bezos' employyees will settle for a couple hundred books each in lieu of cash severance?

Workers of bankrupt firm paid off in combs

Executors of a bankrupt Bulgarian company have paid off employees in combs because they've run out of money.

The 630 former workers at the Edinstwo 35 company in Panicino have been given hundreds of coloured combs each in lieu of back payment.

The combs were the only remaining asset after executors sold off everything else to pay creditors, the Monitor newspaper reported.

Some workers said they would now try and sell the combs - worth roughly 0.3p each - at nearby markets to make some money.

"I can throw a comb away every time I comb my hair. I've got enough for the rest of my life," one former worker told the newspaper.

Executors say they have already distributed 32,000 out of 60,000 combs to ex-employees of the firm.
