I will betcha a buck that the words are true, but the juxtaposition is wrong.

I am sure Michael would have been offered the job when and around the time Rick Belluzzo left Microsoft.

And I think this is a compliment to how closley MS and HP are working together to produce an industry standard server.

And, if you really want to get esoteric, it would explain why CPQ, shortly after (or well maybe around) the time Capellas became CEO of compaq, compact dumped the initiative to port windows nt to the alpha processor.

So as it turns out Michael was asked, but not recently.
