Flatscreen WinXP Black Screen Report =====

to the thread .....

well, being a very stubborn "idiot", I did NOT tell my sweetie that I'd messed up her machine and had fixed it .....

BUT

I waited until late yesterday evening AFTER she had gone to bed to go back into her office and try the whole shootin mess all over again ....
JUST to see ... ggggg

yep ...
the trouble is a superior level conflict between the Gateway flatscreen and the new/improved NVidia driver from Microsoft ....

same thing ====== total black screen ....

so, I performed the simple operation to remedy the situation by rolling back the driver ....

hey ... I have NO fear, what with being a confirmed idiot and all .... ggggggggggg

anyway, thanks again to all the fine folks for the help, and, once again, we all can learn from each other ...
