Iso, an excellent post. You hit the issues on the money. You have my vote!

Unfortunately, I also see the next spectacular attack leading to a real war, and I don't think the target will be Iraq. It will be Iran, and the war won't be easy in an area of the globe where we have no allies in a position to help us. But the real wildcard is, will the Chinese resist the temptation of our distraction, or try taking Taiwan? Technology has a limit, and I doubt the U.S., Britain and Taiwan have the resources to take on Iran, Iraq, and China on their turf. And as soon as we look vulnerable, other countries will be tempted to dogpile on to those three ... North Korea and Cuba on that list.

>>Really thought that 9/11 would have gotten the country in gear to deal with homeland security in a serious way,
>>long before now.

Elections, politics got in the way - what else is new.

I DO think that it's no coincidence that the Asian Times article is deep-sixed as a hoax, but warning of new security alert, INS to fingerprint Muslims, stepped up vigilance - which I interpret to mean than there's a good possibility that there IS some credence there. If that article made it to NYTimes front page or CNN Fri AM, there would have been havoc yesterday in the market.

How would you handle the news of that article?? - especially if there MAY be a certain part of the threats that could be true --- Quite scary IMHO!!!

Hello Iso: OT/ Re.: corrupt and moribund...

EXACTLY!

By the way, in reference to gassers, would you mind posting about a few, when you find the time? Perhaps more important: Which (or why?) you would avoid some of em.

My Best Regards;
