Hi paul_philp; That seems like a profound thought, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to test it. Boom and bust seems like part and parcel of human nature. Maybe boom and bust are associated with our genetic tendency to optimism and pessimism (fear and greed). Maybe it's a consequence of insufficient information. But there is no question that our economic systems have positive feedback mechanisms that result in cyclic behavior. -- Carl
